fprintf

Write formatted data to file stream Writes the C string pointed by format to the file stream. If format includes format specifiers (subsequences beginning with %), the additional arguments following format are formatted and inserted in the resulting string replacing their respective specifiers. After the format parameter, the function expects at least as many additional arguments as specified by format.

Syntax:
int fprintf ( FILE * stream, const char * format, ... );

Example:

/* fprintf example */
#include

int main ()
{
   FILE * pFile;
   int n;
   char name [100];

   pFile = fopen ("myfile.txt","w");
   for (n=0 ; n<3 ; n++)
   {
     puts ("please, enter a name: ");
     gets (name);
     fprintf (pfile, "name %d [%-10.10s]\n",n,name);
   }
   fclose (pfile);

   return 0;
}
op:
name 1 [john      ]
name 2 [jean-franc]
name 3 [yoko      ]
