border-bottom-color


Property Description

The border-bottom-color property sets the color of an element's bottom border.

This property has the following syntax:

border-bottom-color: transparent|color|initial|inherit;

Note: Always declare the border-style property before the border-bottom-color property. An element must have borders before the color can be changed.

Property Values

Value Description
transparent (default) Sets the border color to transparent
color Sets the border color. Refer to the Colors section for the different ways to specify a color
initial Specifies that the value of the property should be set to the default value
inherit Specifies that the value of the property should be inherited from the parent element

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this property:

p {
  border-style: solid;
  border-bottom-color: #0000ff;
}

<p>This is a paragraph.</p>

This produces the following result:

This is a paragraph.
