Acceptable Use Policy
Short for Acceptable Use Policy, AUP is an agreement made between a user and a company on what a service can and cannot be used for. By utilizing the service associated with the AUP, the user is agreeing to the terms in the policy. For example, an AUP between a user and an ISP, often states the user can use their service, but not for any illegal activity.
