Tag Description

The acronym tag is used to define an acronym.

This tag has the form:

<acronym title="text">
  text
</acronym>

Note: The title attribute is used to show the full version of the expression when the mouse cursor moves over the abbreviation.

HTML5 and HTML4.01 Differences

Not supported in HTML5.
