JQUERY

appendTo()

Description

The .appendTo() method inserts specified content at the end of (but still inside) the selected elements.

Tip: The append() and appendTo() methods do the same thing. The difference is in the syntax: the placement of the content and selector, and that append() can append content using a function.

v1.0

This method has the form:

$(content).appendTo(selector)
Parameter Description
content (required) Specifies the content to insert (can contain HTML tags)
selector (required) Specifies on which elements to append the content

Return Value

This form returns a jQuery object.

Examples

Insert content at the end of each p element:

$("button").click(function(){
  $("jQuery").appendTo("p");
});
