removeData()


Description

The .removeData() method removes a previously-stored piece of data.

This method allows the removal of values that were previously set using the .data() method.

This method has the form:

.removeData([name])
Parameter Description
name (optional) Specifies a string naming the key for the piece of data to delete. If name is omitted, all values are removed.

Return Value

This form returns a jQuery object.

This method has the alternate form:

.removeData([list])
Parameter Description
list (optional) Specifies an array or space-separated string naming the pieces of data to delete

Return Value

This form returns a jQuery object.
