AND &&


Description

AND (also &&) returns 1 if the operands are nonzero or not NULL. It returns 0, if one of the operands is zero, else NULL is returned.

The function has the form:

SELECT operand1 && operand2
Parameter Description
operand1 An operand
operand2 An operand

Return Value

Returns 1 if the operands are nonzero or not NULL. It returns 0, if one of the operands is zero, else NULL is returned.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

mysql> SELECT 1 && 1;
-> 1
mysql> SELECT 1 && 0;
-> 0
mysql> SELECT 1 && NULL;
-> NULL
mysql> SELECT 0 && NULL;
-> 0
mysql> SELECT NULL && 0;
-> 0
