FIELD()


Description

The FIELD( ) function returns the string in the format str1,str2,str3….. If string is not found, then it returns 0.

This function has the form:

SELECT FIELD (str1, str2, str3…)
Parameter Description
str1, str2, str3... Strings

Return Value

The string in the format str1,str2,str3….. If string is not found, then it returns 0.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

mysql> SELECT FIELD('ej', 'Hej', 'ej', 'Heja', 'hej', 'foo');
-> 2
mysql> SELECT FIELD('fo', 'Hej', 'ej', 'Heja', 'hej', 'foo');
-> 0
