LAST_DAY()


Description

The LAST_DAY( ) function returns the last day of a month. The function returns NULL if the argument is invalid.

This function has the form:

SELECT LAST_DAY(date)
Parameter Description
date A valid date

Return Value

The last day of a month.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

mysql> SELECT LAST_DAY('2003-02-05');
-> '2003-02-28'
mysql> SELECT LAST_DAY('2004-02-05');
-> '2004-02-29'
mysql> SELECT LAST_DAY('2004-01-01 01:01:01');
-> '2004-01-31'
mysql> SELECT LAST_DAY('2003-03-32');
-> NULL
