Description

The USER( ) function returns the current MySQL user name and host name as a string in the utf8 character set.

This function has the form:

SELECT USER()

Return Value

Current MySQL user name and host name as a string in the utf8 character set.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

mysql> SELECT USER();
-> 'davida@localhost'
