VERSION()


Description

The VERSION( ) function returns a string, which indicates MySQL server version. The string uses utf 8 character set.

This function has the form:

SELECT VERSION()

Return Value

String indicating MySQL server version.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

mysql> SELECT VERSION();
-> '5.5.11-standard'
