Asc()


Description

The Asc() function converts the first character in a string to ANSI code, and returns the result.

This function has the form:

Asc(string)
Parameter Description
string (required) A string expression.

Note: Only the first character in a string is returned

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this function:

Msgbox(Asc("A"))
Msgbox(Asc("a"))
Msgbox(Asc("F"))
Msgbox(Asc("f"))
Msgbox(Asc("2"))
Msgbox(Asc("#"))

This produces the following result (each line in a separate pop-up message box):

65
97
70
102
50
35
