Chr()


Description

The Chr() function converts the specified ANSI character code to a character.

Note: The numbers from 0 to 31 represents nonprintable ASCII codes, i.e. Chr(10) will return a linefeed character.

This function has the form:

Chr(charcode)
Parameter Description
charcode (required) A number that identifies a character

Examples

The following examples show the basic use of this function:

Example 1

Msgbox(Chr(65))
Msgbox(Chr(66))
Msgbox(Chr(67))
Msgbox(Chr(97))
Msgbox(Chr(98))
Msgbox(Chr(99))

This produces the following result (each line in a separate pop-up message box):

Example 2

Msgbox(Chr(34))
