Const


Description

The Const statement is used to declare a constant for use in place of literal values.

This statement has the form:

[Public | Private] Const name = expression
Parameter Description
Public (optional) A keyword that specifies that the constant is available to all procedures in all scripts

Note: Not allowed within procedures
Private (optional) A keyword that specifies that the constant is only available within the script where the declaration is made

Note: Not allowed within procedures
name (required) Specifies the name of the constant

Note: name must follow the standard variable naming conventions
expression (required) Specifies a literal or other constant, or any combination that includes all arithmetic or logical operators (except Is)

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this statement:

Const MyNumber = 12345   ' Constants are Public by default

Private Const MyString = "Maui No Ka Oi"
