Description

The Dim statement is used to declare variables and allocate storage space.

This statement has the form:

Dim varname[([subscripts])][, varname[([subscripts])]] . . .
Parameter Description
varname (required) Specifies the name of the variable

Note: varname must follow the standard variable naming conventions
subscripts Specifies the dimensions of an array variable (up to 60).

The subscripts argument has the following syntax:

upperbound [,upperbound] . . .

Note: The lower bound of an array is always zero.

Examples

The following example shows the basic use of this statement:

Dim EmployeeNames(9)  ' Declare an array with 10 elements
Dim SectorNames()     ' Declare a dynamic array
Dim MyVar1, MyVar2    ' Declare two variables
